Improvised electronic music and equipment demos.
Studio Electronics MidiMini
As these are quite rare I thought I would make a video while I was testing this one after a repair and service. It is basically a minimoog in a rack with midi and more features - sounds great... played from my trusty and rather dusty Arturia Keystep. Please click thru to get the various tones as this is quite a long video for Minimoog fans and nerds.

Improvisation using many instruments but mostly two behringer 55 modulars and the kobol expander sequenced by a quantized 960 sequencer.
Vicars RIP the lovely Kenny Everett

I recorded this off the radio early 80s when my nickname was the vicar. I deny all. I miss him so much. I get called a prick and a cunt sometimes now that is gender confusion for all to see... SWITCH OFF THE INTERNET I DONT CARE ABOUT MY SITE

Improvised electronic music. The performance mixing could have been better as the system 55 riff is far too dominant. That's why professionals record each instrument on a different track, I fly by the seat of my pants and see what happens...

I always wanted one, but i do confuse the ones with real Mini boards with the later clones. I own a early Minimoog signed in person by Bob, but also want a rack as that, is for sale?
Does the world really need another Mini Moog clone that cost 6 times more than it's worth?
No, these came out years ago.
All through hole hand built with premium components. One of the finest monos ever built and you make it sing beautifully.
What a dumb comment
Great jam, cool performance :)
Very nice sound! 👍
this is a fantastic inspirational jam, great sequencers and performance :) ( do you just do a stereo mix then? that is what I do, my synths go to a mixer then stereo out to stereo in on the Tascam 2488, if the balance of the parts sounds right at jam time thats it, it is what it is ) your 55 riff volum seems fine to me :)
Yes just a live stereo mix recorded to Cubase 13 via RME Babyface pro FS. Thanks
@@VykaarTones Thanks for the info :)
Good stuff.. love that Nord pad, very rich and full sound.
Love it at 05:37 when the sequence seems to have a mind of its own. Good one to start my day with
Ever since I discovered your channel, I always look to see what's new. It's 0.45hrs. In the middle of the night and I'm sitting in my patrol car listening to your stuff during the over night shift. TD is my go to electronica since the 70's, so your stuff speaks to me more than any other creator. I think we have a lot of the same or simular equipment. I love the ratchet effects, very nice.
Thanks for your support and thanks for doing the job you do, I will think about you on the road and try and come up with something different...
Great jam, I particularly love the flute-like lead and the string ensemble sounds...
Excellent!
Thanks for late night listening!
Grazie della magia ❤️
👍Nice ! 💙⚪❤
Did you get rid of the UB-Xa? And is that a Elka Rhapsody sneaking out from the bottom the main keyboard rack?
Yes I sold the UBXa but still think it is a good synth for the money and yes my lovely Elka Rhapsody 610 hides under the new stuff.
👍Nice ! 💙⚪❤
Vykaar always satisfies!
Wonderful! Took me back to TD in mid 70's Except that you are doing this alone, and there were 3 members of TD!! EXCELLENT WORK!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks, I enjoy getting the old vibe going and like it when people approve.
For reference: Tangerine Dream - Ricochet (REMASTERED FULL ALBUM part one and two) 1975 ruclips.net/video/ikFSY-e7D-Y/видео.html
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssssssss............ Ricochet was my first Tangerine Dream album! I still like it pretty much over all. It's what got me needing (wanting? 😏 a sequencer. Originally tried keyboard, like Froshe on the guitar in the early albums. First one was a PAiA 4780 kit which I modified from the Arp 1027 type (only can change the sequence length with patchcords) to the MOOG 960 type with stage switching in/out. Granted the 4700 was a single channel, but still loads of fun. Seeing Vykaar use the B960, I've gotten a couple of them and keep thinking I need more!
We are kindred spirits in electronic music from that era
@@VykaarTones BrOtHeR !!!!!!! 😏😉😁😎
Nice mellotron sound touches. I'm pleased to see you still use a RS-09. I used to own one in the early 80ies and very much regret selling it.

Awesome sir
Another interesting composition... how are you getting on with the Edge?? (which begs an obvious answer 😜)
The Edge is good but I am still learning how to make use of it in the old styles I play.
is that an RS09 on top ?
Yes, it's the older mk 1 version.
great jam, well cool lovely sequence :)
That was very atmospheric! Great stuff. I was thinking of you a couple of days ago while listening to Ricochet and doing some mind-numbing maffs at work. I wondered if I could tap into your experience and ask a question about the sequenced metallic sound that comes in on Ricochet side one around 8.19. I've been trying to recreate it but no luck, I'm assuming it's on their System 55. Have you ever had a go at recreating it? Thanks - Andrew
I'll have a go at getting that sound, more open filter and exponential VCA response is my guess... My first try: ruclips.net/video/WgW07eJYZBU/видео.html
This is so good, i mean it is analog sources coming through to us in a digital form, but somehow the analogue quality is still to be recognized in the digital form
Interesting!! 😊😊😊😊
Tremendous sound. I’ve played this video repeatedly for a couple of weeks now. Record some more and put it on Bandcamp. I’d buy it. Don’t worry about “it’s not perfect” that’s what like about it. It’s the interaction between human and machine, the improvisation and the happy accidents which stop things becoming too clinical and sterile. My favourite TD album is Ricochet, recorded live, mistakes and all. Sequences with life.
I will create music using these modules within the next week or so 🙂
Nice! Can you give any details on how you patched the modules and sequencer to get this sound? Thanks :)
You can see how things were patched more clearly here ruclips.net/video/BYVedZ98tw4/видео.html I can't remember how things were patched exactly but the sequencer CV and Keystep CV are summed in the CP3A-O Oscillator Controller. The three 921 VCOs are mixed in the CP3A-M and go to the 904A low pass filter then the 902 VCA.
I have that exact controller; still a great mapped keyboard and set of knobs. To me the system 100 clones modules are in many ways an ideal entry point into modular along with that Behringer case.
Nice work. What mixing desk do you use? Just curious.

Tangerine Dream moment ❤❤❤❤
cool tones and sequence
How about Baba O'Reilly?
A work in progress but not on this synthesizer it need two sequencers running at different tempos. Maybe the 2500 could do it...
nice envelope.
Thank you 😊
This was a really crazy video when I was playing in real time and also panning the camera around....

Thanks
What are those three modules with the lovely big knobs on them? ^^ I assume the knobs are aftermarket, but still -- curious about the module itself.
Kassutronic VCO 3340 with wooden front panels from Finland. I just bought the PCB and panels and made them myself - Nice and stable tuning. The CEM 3340 is the vco used in the Rev3 Prophet 5
I could get a 2nd-hand mk1 for €280. I hear the mk2 differs soundwise, plus it's €450!
Mk1 had the best sound with a fat 24db/octave low pass filter.
The 70s never really went away…
Very Tangerine Dreamy 👍
